Eclipse walked over the terrain slowly, she was feeling quite weak, but was so happy to be returning home. excited to bring the flicka with herm show her the lands, her family. it was all so exciting. they named her Kadence, Kady for short. the beautiful black filly bounded alongside her mother, she felt great, still a bit wobbly, but with all teh energy a foal could posses.
They slowly crested the hill overlooking the valley, the painted mare let out a weak call to any that were around, to come meet her new little one. of course she was protective of her, but the princess of the lands and the lights should meet them all. it would be good for her to be exposed to them. and surely between her and Forsaken Kady would be perfectly safe.
Kadence looked over the lands, they were so colorful. she looked up to her mother with an inquisitive gaze, then out over the lands again, was this her home? her mother seemed happy to be here. a slight breeze blew over the bluff and kady leapt towards her mother pressing herself into her side. she let out a soft snort at the wind. boy were there lots of ew things here.

Forsaken watched as Eclipse and Kadence entered the safety of his terrain. Just after Kady had stood for the first time, Forsaken had left Eclipse with her to go tell Dakota the news. She had had a foal of her own, a colt by the name of Callan. Both had suffered the loss of their first loves and had survived the pain of it to start new lives. It was strange to see how things worked out. Dakota promised she would stop by with her colt as some point today.
Forsaken had returned to the birthing grounds just after Eclipse and Kady had left and so shadowed them all the way home to make sure they stayed safe. Pride filled him as he watched his baby girl take in her new home for the first time. Forsaken approached as Kady spooked against her mother as the wind touched her. He laughed and bent down to rub his dial gently against her side.
"Hello love. Dakota said she would come by with her son."

Kady looked up at Forsaken. taking in everything about him, she had seen him before, and ow he was with her again. he must be important. she felt safe near him, like near her mother at his touch she relaxed a bit. he spoke to her mother and she listened carefully, though didnt quite understand. someone was coming, but she didnt know who, though she didnt really know anyone so she was sure that it would be exciting.
Eclipse nuzzled the flicka gently as she spooked at the wind. a smile came to her mug as Forsaken approached. she knew he was as excited as she was for this foal. seeing him with her was just adorable. Dakota was stopping by with her son, that was nice Eclipse hadnt wanted for Kady to not have anyone to play with. she always thought that foals should have others their age to play with.
That will be nice, I hope they get along well. she paused looking dwon at the flicka she doesnt seem very skittish, well except for that evil wind

"Yes, you have to watch out for the wind, little one. You never know that it'll bring with it."
Forsaken spoke with mock seriousness to his tiny daughter, blowing gently in her over-sized auds to tease her. She was absolutely gorgeous. Even now he knew that he was going to be crazily overprotective of her, but a sucker for those gorgeous brown eyes that watched him so carefully. Forsaken laughed and picked his dial up to rest it on Eclipse's nape.
Hoofbeats became audible to him and he stood at attention, trying to see who had trespassed in is domain. Forsaken relaxed when he discerened two sets, one almost too soft to hear, which told him it was a young one. Dakota appeared followed by a strangely painted colt, with a black and white pattern that was not normally seen. Dakota greeted her cousin with a hug before embracing Eclipse.
"Hello everyone! Eclipse, this is my son, Callan."
Callan stood by his mother's side, silent and staring at everything with a calmness that was odd for one so young. Dakota gave him an affectionate nuzzle before greeting Kady.

Kadence watched as the new equids approached, eyes wide taking in everything. She watched the mare a moment as she spoke to her mother and father. looking to them a moment for a sign that they were ok. But she thought that she put a smiel on her face when the mare greeted her, but she wasnt really sure, it may have been more of a lip wiggle.
But what really drew her attention was the little colt. and as soon as she was pretty sure that these two were ok, she took a few tentative steps towards him. looking him all over, tipping her head to follow his pattern around him.
Eclipse smiled as Dakota introduced her son, and this is Kadence she said in return. she was very glad for kady to have someone to play with, even if for now the playing wasnt much more than staring. she would get it, when she was a bit more stable.

To him it seemed she was making fun of the way he was painted. He had an unusual black and white pattern and he did look a bit odd, but it didn't help his pride that she looked at him like that. Callan pinned his long auds at the small flicka and turned his dial to look at the adults. Dakota gave him a sharp nip in rebuke and he gave her a look that spoke of long-suffering. She shoved him gently and he walked towards the flicka with his auds in their proper position.
"He's so strange."
Dakota remarked, watching her son. She didn't mean it in a criticizing way, but he was strange. He was silent, solemn...didn't really seem given to having fun. But maybe it was because he hadn't had any other young ones to interact with.
"So cousin...I heard something interesting. Pollux and Nessarose return?"
Forsaken left them aprubtly, obviously not wanting to talk about Nessa. He strolled over to the young ones and nuzzled his daughter before chasing Callan around. Dakota looked at Eclipse with a curious gleam in her eye.
"So what happened?"

Kadence watched the colt as his expressions changed, though she paid little attention to their meaning. as his mother pushed him towards her she bounded in place and took a few steps off from the adults, though keeping one eye on her mother. she moved closer to him with a happy expression painted onto her face. and nipped him gently on the crest leaping away a step, watching him with eyes wide.
Eclipse watched Forsaken with a slightly troubled look, she knew this wasnt something he wanted to talk about, and sisnt say anything when he took his leave to watch the youngons. her gaze followed him a moment and stopped on kady and callan 'playing' as a soft smile returned to her mug.
she turned her attention back to Dakota and her words were soft. Well a few weeks ago Nessa showed up, he was pretty torn up about it, and i think that i just made things worse, but they seemed to have come to some sort of understanding, though i havent seen her since. her voice trailed off thiking of the interaction. she paused, it had been a long while since there had been other to talk with, or in this case gossip with. it was funny, she had never really been one for it, but now well, it was interesting. Pollux came here too, though i didnt know who he was, i have to say i definatly made that one worse. we had a sever difference of opinion. but i think it all worked out, more or less.
she thought about it, well things had been quiet at least since she had had Kady, and she was thankful for that. she just hoped that it all could work out, she knew how if affected Forsaken so, and didnt want thier current situation to completly take over his life.

I looked at the strange equine in front of me. She was the first I had seen that was actually my size. Obviously my mother wanted us to play together. To be honest, I didn't know what I thought about Kady, or whatever her name was. When she nipped me, I pinned my auds and bit back, probably a lot harder than what she had done. Mother's cousin came over and nipped my shoulder in rebuke, which kind of hurt my feelings. Everyone was punishing me for my normal nature. What the heck?
Dakota listened to Eclipse's words while keeping an eye on Forsaken. There was something else to what she said. It didn't make sense. If there had been a mutual understanding, it wouldn't have hurt so badly. It wouldn't have made him walk away from them like that.
"He told her he couldn't take her back."
Dakota said as the answer dawned on her. The ebon fae turned to face the painted one, new understanding in her orbs.
"of course...that's why he feels so terrible about it. Imagine if Duke suddenly appeared again and you had to face him. You have a choice...take him back and make things akward with your current lover. Or tell them to leave and make it hard on yourself, knowing you still love him."
Dakota's voice trailed off, her mind wandering to Adante. It was strange that they all had similar situations. What would she do if Adante ever came back. Granted, he was dead but if by some strange miracle he wasn't.....she couldn't even imagine that situation. It would probably drive her crazy.
"Ah, pollux. you have to understand Pollux and how he became the way he is to deal with him. Forsaken always was the best one for that. I guess you could say they're alike, somehow."

Kady pinned her auds at the painted colt and looked up to Forsaken with a questioning look a slight smile crossing her face as the little colt was reprimanded. she tilted her head as she gazed back at him wondering why he had been brought here, she understood that she was supposed to play with him. but he didnt seem even the slightest bit interested, that made her sad and she let out a big sigh. she looked back to her mother but saw the mares talking so remained where she was, looking questioningly between her father and the colt.
Eclipse listened to Dakota, though her tone was pleasent she was a bit put off by her words, i think of that all the time, and i knew that it was a possiblilty for it to happen to him. maybe it was easier because duke didnt go off to other obligations, but it lingers in the back of my mind constantly. she didnt really want to think about it, but it was the reason that she and Forsaken were so compatable, their stories were so similar.
She also didnt want to sound upset with her, she knew that she didnt mean any harm. and as she spoke of Pollux eclipse listened intently, the more she could understand the better off she would be. since things had obviously gottne off on the wrong foot she was a bit at a loss.
thinking about that for a moment she turned her attention to the foals, just standing there, that wasnt really the plan, but maybe they werent quite ready for play yet, or maybe they didnt know how to get along. a soft smile came to her mug as she watched kady, just standing looking at the colt awkwardly.

im working on a reply dearie...i just need some muse
i had an idea for a plot with kady and callan though...of course its a little love plot but it doesn't have to work out.
dakota is eventually going to lose her mind and kill herself because adante and lilly are alive. everyone will find out the craziness began when he and Lilly died, but it will drive her off the deep end.
Callan will obviously still live with his dad, but will visit Forsaken and Eclipse and Kady often to help deal with the grief.
my idea was that he and Kady start off pretty much hating each other but start developing crushes or something, but they hide it. and itll just go from there.

"I'm sorry if I offended you, Eclipse. It was the only way I could think of to explain it. I know him. He was there for me after Adante and Lilly died, he might as well have been my twin. I also know that he would never leave you for anything in the world. He'd die first."
Dakota gave a small smile, extreme sadness written into her tone. She had never really gotten over losing Adante and Lilly the way she had. In fact, she didn't know it yet, but something in her had snapped completely. She was a time-bomb for insanity.
Forsaken and Callan began chasing each other, Callan actually showing some emotion as he began to recognize the excitement in playing. Forsaken paused near Kady, inviting her to join with a gentle nudge and a nip.

eclipse contemplated the mares words, she knew that she hadnt meant any harm, Forsaken just had that way about him of being relateable and relaiable. but she stopped dweeling in her own thoughts as the mares tone reveberated inside her. she had not gotten over it, well who ever got over losing loved ones? but she was still taking it pretty hard. she was going to say something, but was unsure what so she let her attention be taken by Forsaken playing with the foals.
Kady watched uncertainly for a moment as Frosaken and Callan played, she had wanted to play but the little colt had dampered her mood a bit. but now he seemed to be coming around and playing, maybe it would be ok now. As her father beckoned her to join she thought only a moment longer to shift her gaze for a second to her mother, who seemed to be watching and sprung into the air after the boys. catching up beside her father she darted towards the colt, she wanted to play and she knew he couldnt be mean to her anymore so she was gonna play. she nipped him ever so lightly then darted away at another angle looking back to see if he made chase.
